Egg Breakfast

Today we did a chemical experience and it was on cooking.Today we cooked some kind of breakfast and the chemical change was the egg because is was wet and watery. But then it changed into a boiled egg because it release gas and it also change temperature.It also change colour it went to yellow to white and yellow and even the bread it went to soft to hard and it was brown a chrispy.

Today our class had to do prototec the score I got was 80% but I use to be 90 I went down because I am not focusing on my work and always talking when it is math lesson.I want to get a 100% on prototec because that is what a year 8 is supposed to be on.To get there I would need to focus more on my maths so I can accelerate and so I can keep up the pace for a year8.

Chemical change fire

Ask a question Will it release gas?

Construct a hypothesis( make a guess) I think the paper  burn into ashes and can not be undone.

Conduct the experiment To do it you light the matches and burn the paper.

Record your observations and data colour change, When we we burn the paper it release gas and also change temperature and even color.

Analyse information We got to see the fire because gas was released and it changed into a new substance and it can’t be irrevocable.

Report results Today we did a chemical change with matches and paper to know that it is a chemical change it need to resales gas  and other stuff and also it can not be undone.

chemical change

This morning our class made a chemical change by combining the ingredients and putting it into a pan.We knew it was happening because it started to bubble up and started to change color. Also it release gas  also change temperature  and it was not a doubt any more.Today we learn about the scientific method but I did not learn it because I came late today I knew it was done because these 5 things  and it was edible and cooked

Best pet

In my opinion I think dogs would be the best pet because some dogs are well trained.Also

when you tell them to set they would set even roll over.I think dogs are the best pets because they can protect you and your family because if any person try to come and punch you They would start barking or just bite.But on the other hand dogs can be sometimes annoying when they poo on the floor but it all right that is why you need to train them but other then that I think dogs are the best pets.

How I want to be remembered

How I want to be remembered. I want to be remember as good and responsible boy but not how I act now.I want to be that person who takes it seriously on my work also who doesn't get in trouble most of the time. I want to be remembered as a responsible boy because so my family knows that I can do something in life with them not being there for me.  

The thing I have to do is be responsible and not be naught because that is the things I struggle on.Also try to stay out of trouble so they can remeber me as a good child instead of naught.I want to be remember a good child because if I am bad they will think that my sisters are like me and if I good they will think that they act like me good.

I would also want to be remend as a sports person  because  I love sports to do that I will have to train more so I can get better and better so I can be remeber of winning a sport at school.

I would also want to be someone breaking records at our school because when you break a record you would get a certificate. Also they will hang it where everyone can see it and it will have my name on it.But I will break it so no one can break but only if we a record.

Diwali-Rangoli pattern

Today my class has been learning about this Indian celebration called Diwali. Today our class did some kind of pattern relating to Diwali most of them looked like flowers I did not do one because I was helping around the school.Diwali is a big Hindus celebration where the Hindus come and celebrate to the gods.

The thing there do for Diwali is there would wake up early and clean their house because they think that the gods won't come in to a dirty house. Then after they clean their house they would go shopping to buy gold but around the world god is expensive so the would buy something to use and even fire works.

At night they would decorate the house with a lot of light  like candles Christmas lights and more. Sometimes sisters would give gifts to their brother and mark the head in red to show their love for them and the brothers would give them gifts and after they would enjoy some sweets the thing I did not know is that Christians can celebrate it.

Reflection on Round Robin Writing

Today we did round robin writing that I have not heard before I think it was a good Idea  doing this writing because you can see how other people writing.Also you get to share your ideas with other people. Our first one that my group did was joseph parker how he won.

Food tech

On Monday room 7 I go to Tamaki every Monday to do cooking. Today I think we cooked a bacon and egg pie because it tasted like one it was yum the thing we got to make it was bacon milk cream cheese and of course the pastry. Then we started cooking my favorite part was eating it because it was tasty also learning how to cook it so I can make it at home.

E-asttle Maths

Today we did e-asttle for math and we had to do strand I found it easy but at the end I was wrong because I got a 3P I only moved up one but I wanted to get a 4.I think next time I have to do better so I can get that mark. Also from now on I better listening so I can do better and get my goal because that where I have to be also I am a year 8.

I have not acceleration because I have not focused that much because I got a 3p then 2 then 3b I am not happy because cuse I dropped.By the end of the year I would like to get a 4 to do that I will have to focused more on the math lesson.

I have acceleration on my reading because I'm on tarks and  I am completing all the active also I went from a 2 to a 3 Iam happy because I did not drop.I would like to get a 4 to do that I would have to do more reading and be more focused.

In writing I have gone bad because I got a 1a the a 2b that not even good because I don't read and eid and my punctuation is bad I am bad because I am not on task.At the end of the year I would love to get a 4. The thing I am struggling with is explanation next term I need to work harder on explanation and I need to check if my sentence make cents.Also I need to use caps on the right time.

Show not tell emotion

As it hit to the end of the game they leap to the air pounding the air you can heard yelling everywhere saying YES. Some players ran a slid on the ground with excitement all of us hugging and share happiness. Also everywhere you look you would see big smiles splashed on their faces and saying WOOHOO! throwing their hands into the air enjoying their sleeves and the crow went wild yelling yay WOOHOO you could hear a yelling shout when that game ended.You could smell sweet on the men when they tried hard when they went to change they scream their head off .

As the game ended Lions knew it  they  heads dropped covering our face madness were passed on to the fans also the crowd some were upset punching the floor some were crying. Also there even tried to pick a fight with the reffie blaming yelling even swearing moon even complaining.some covered their face not looking eye to eye some were bending their knees arms on their head try to breath the crowd went silent after that. When they went back people were yelling trying to work out how they won.

Matific

Today the matific started last week it was a warm up for the real game and now  it is the real  one. In the morning we had to get the 1000 point and I got it tomorrow we have to better and get to the top by playing at home if you have spare time. Also the is what I did I had to cut and paste it.

Simple machine

Last Friday Mr Hendricks proved that he could lift the heaviest person in our class with his thumb. He lifted Sive with his thumb with one of the simple tools which was a lever. When he lifted him he explained how he did it and then he lifted the teacher.

For the last few weeks our class have be making simple toys out of gears, pulley, screw, wheel  axle, and levers. The toy that I made is made with a wheels and a axle I like it because it can move also anyone can make it. We did this because it was our topic study so what I did was made a wheel and axle and tied a balloon to it and this is it.

Today I choose these 2 activity to post on my blog because I got to make a drawing about a vocab word. Also the thing that I learnt was to discuss the choice of names chosen by the author and lots more.

Today we learnt a song with miss Maud when Miss Maud came we learnt a song E TE AIKI it was like a pray first Miss Maud told us to copy her then we did. She would say a word then we would say it then we kept saying it and got better and got to know the song more and then we got it right.As we got better and better we knew it a bit so then we sang it at the end and it was better then before.       

Boys helping

In the morning R 7&8 boys had to go help Mr Hendricks left the logs but we did most of the work.We had to move the logs because Mr H was going to marking a volleyball court there because we like to play volleyball.When we had to left it it took 20 of us to left and Mr asked for strong boys. when we finished it was a bit heavy for us because some kids could not lift it this is a photo of us struggling.

Comparing Fractions

This week we used inequality signs <, > and = to compare fractions.

On Monday we used materials. This was easy for me because the sign is like a crocodile's mouth and it eats the biggest fraction so what we is to work it out was we got a fraction block and put it on the other and saw what one was bigger  

On Tuesday we used a fraction chart. This was easy for me because the chart show the fraction and we run our hand down the line  and we saw which one was bigger when she told us which one bigger we looked at our chart and this is what it looked like

On Wednesday  we worked without the above.  We learnt a strategy which was we had to times the denomination and to make them the same also the the numerator to make the same value and to do this strategy you will need to know your times table and then look at which one has the bigger numerator and that your answer The  knowledge required to solve to  problems this way is a y8 standard This was easy for me because I did this last year

Football skills

This morning we went to football and this man Steve

taught us a few skills but the basic skills for football the skills we learnt was

1.Dribbling.

2.Attack.

3.Pass.

4.defend the ball.

5.Use the inside or outside of your foot to pass the ball.

I did a bit good because I was good at passing also attacking

and defend but if I keep practicing I will be better.

If I had to compare rugby my favorite sport rugby I would be better at rugby.
